No Fears - No Regrets

What a race.... the weather in doncaster was clear blue skies when we set off on this single loop course. Same instruction style as the Round Rotheram and this time only one group of runners but was doing well for first 20 miles... then suddenly big black cloud appeared on horizon and within minutes the weather was horrendous gale force winds and torrential rain... the rain wa horizontal blowing right in your face whilst trying to cross open fields and it wa hard work trying to walk let alone run as the mud become softer and the cold wind was driving the rain like bullets which really stung the face. Luckily I had carried windproof top and running tights in rucksack... without them I would have been in real trouble. I ended up finishing in 16th place out of 60 starters.. learnt to be weary of weather and always carry proper equipment no matter how nice the weather looks when you start. |
