This was a 3 lap course and the full runners were competing alongside 3 man relay teams who changed as we crossed the start line each time.

The commando's used this event to break the official military world record with a squad of 8 in full gear with 40lb rucksack completing it in 4H 19 mins 28 secs.

The course was mainly rural with a long gentle climb and long gentle decent...

At this race I met the world record holder at the time for the 24 hour track running race.. he was now 65 years old and completed the full marathon in 3H 09 mins.. Totally awesome....!!
